
Tonya Lowry, BSN, RN, PMH-C
Tonya Lowry is a Perinatal Bereavement Nurse Clinician in the H.E.A.R.T.strings Perinatal Bereavement and Palliative Care Department at Northside Hospital Gwinnett in Lawrenceville, Georgia. She developed a heart for the perinatal loss population 16 years ago after the stillbirth of her son. She has dedicated the last 11 years at her hospital to supporting families who have experienced perinatal loss. During her 11 years at the bedside, she has also been leading perinatal loss support groups for the hospital and in the community. Tonya is committed to supporting staff and providing the highest quality and compassionate care to grieving families in any area of the hospital where a perinatal loss occurs. She is a former ICU nurse and spent many years as a Certified Childbirth Educator teaching childbirth and parenting classes. She is a member of the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetrics and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), a Certified Bereavement Coordinator through Resolve Through Sharing, and is in the process of completing her Perinatal Mental Health Certification.
