
Maternal Mental Health Month is recognized every May, and includes several campaigns which bring awareness about Maternal Mental Health.

May 7, 2025 is World Maternal Mental Health Day
The first Wednesday of May is World Maternal Mental Health Day. Organizations from around the world — including the US, Canada, UK, Turkey, Australia, Argentina, Malta, New Zealand, South Africa, Spain, Germany, Nigeria, and more — are leading efforts to raise awareness about maternal mental health through a collective social media push and in-country events. Postpartum Support International is proud to be a member of the worldwide taskforce.

Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week
Sunday May 4th – Saturday May 10th
The Purpose of #MMHWeek2025 is to:
- Raise awareness of maternal mental health disorders
- Proliferate the blue dot as the symbol of solidarity and support
- Combat stigma and shame
The blue dot is the national symbol for maternal mental health survivorship, support, and solidarity. The blue dot symbol is owned by the community and is free for anyone to use.
This year’s theme is Storytelling Saves Lives
