Stacey Figg
Stacey’s journey to Postpartum Support International has been years in the making. Her passion for perinatal mental health, PMHDs, and the parenthood profession stems from her own lived experience. In her eyes, the unplanned c-section she endured with her first child was Stacey’s first failure as a mother. From the birth on, she struggled with severe anxiety, sleeplessness, and OCD. When baby was just 10 weeks old, she was admitted to a psychiatric unit for 8 days. It was the worst experience of her life, yet one that saved her.
From the point of recovery on, she has made it her mission to advocate not just for perinatal mental health or PMHDs but for the mothers and fathers of the world. Parenthood is hard and not meant to be done alone.
Stacey’s connection to PSI started in 2017 when she began as a Helpline Volunteer. In 2021, she became a Facilitator for the Pregnancy & Infant Loss for Parents support group which led to studies as a Bereavement Doula. In 2022, she joined the Coordinator Team as the Support Coordinators Network Specialist. She helped to develop the PSI Postpartum Planning Class and co-facilitates it once a month. Outside of PSI, she is a Certified Postpartum Doula (DONA) who specializes in providing in-home support for women and families who are at high risk for experiencing a PMHD or are in the midst of one. Her current role is the Assistant Manager of the PSI Coordinator Program.
Stacey is so proud to be a part of this organization and the work that we do every day to fulfill the PSI mission!
