Kelli Blinn, Doula, Childbirth Educator, PMH-C
(she/her) Kelli’s transition into motherhood didn’t start the way she had hoped. She struggled. Her decades-long obsession with reading books and watching videos about childbirth, and listening to people’s birth stories could only prepare her so much. She lacked the support she needed (but didn’t know she needed it until well after the fact). Amidst the joys and delights of parenthood, she also experienced lots of loneliness and frustration as well as postpartum depression and anxiety. Over time she learned that her experience was common for many others around her and thus began her journey more than eight years ago of helping families as an educator and a doula.
From 2019-2022 Kelli worked with the POEM program helping to facilitate free parent-to-parent support and connections to mental health resources for birthing people of Color in the state of Ohio. During her time at POEM, she earned her certification in perinatal mental health and came to realize that her lived experience has made her a stronger, more well-rounded care provider for the clients who come her way. Kelli lives in Columbus, Ohio with her husband and their two children.
