Christopher Rose
(he/him) Christopher is a volunteer with Postpartum Support International in both the Support Groups Program and the Peer Mentor Program. Christopher is a Perinatal Anxiety and Perinatal OCD survivor who facilitates the PSI Dads Support group once a month and provides support to dads who connect via the Peer Mentor Program.
Prior to becoming a volunteer with PSI, Christopher was a new father struggling to support his wife’s mental health and his own mental health. He is a pandemic first-time parent (a term he and his wife have coined) meaning he and his wife experienced a pregnancy and postpartum experience during the height of the COVID pandemic in 2020. Christopher was looking for ways to support his wife and connect with other parents due to the isolation barriers of the COVID pandemic. His wife found PSI support groups and began educating him on the different mental health challenges new parents can experience. His wife encouraged him to attend the dads support group which were offered monthly. He felt he needed more support than a monthly dads support group and was eager to support his wife who was struggling. Attending support groups helped him realize he too was struggling with his own mental health. Christopher began attending the PSI Perinatal Parents support groups where he connected with other parents and was able to learn more about his wife’s experience from other moms experiencing similar mental health challenges. Once he and his wife recovered, Christopher wanted to give back to the organization that saved his family. He inquired about how to become a PSI Dads Support group leader and began facilitating monthly which expanded PSI dad’s monthly support groups to twice a month. Christopher is proud to volunteer with PSI which has now expanded the Dads Support groups to a weekly support group! Professionally Christopher is a Senior Producer at Warner Brothers Games, a sports fan (Go Golden State Warriors and Dallas Cowboys) and a video gamer. He lives in the SF Bay Area, CA with his wife, his daughter Sybil and his furbaby cat Izzy.
