LaKisha Headley
LaKisha Headley, assistant manager of grief and loss groups at Postpartum Support International, brings over 20 years of corporate experience in international business, training, and curriculum design.
She holds an M.S. in Teaching & Learning with Technology, a B.S. in Organizational Leadership, and extensive certifications as a doula, childbirth educator, and lactation counselor. As the owner of Georgia Women’s Health Consultants, she empowers women through birth and postpartum support. Her approach to grief support focuses on creating non-judgmental spaces tailored to individual needs, recognizing that cultural and family differences significantly impact the grieving process.
LaKisha’s commitment to this work stems from personal experience. After losing her daughter Shamiah to stillbirth and her son Jackson to a fatal neural tube defect, she intimately understands the deep grief of pregnancy and infant loss. She is dedicated to supporting facilitators and help-seekers, ensuring compassionate and effective care. When not helping families through PSI, LaKisha is pursuing studies to become a Physician Associate focusing on Women’s Health. She cherishes time with her two sons at sporting events and enjoys cooking for her loved ones.
