Jessica B. Peterkin, DMD
A resident of sunny Arizona— Dr. Jessica Brereton Peterkin, affectionately called “Dr. JessB,” is a family dentist, maternal community health professional, speaker, and author. For over a decade, Dr. JessB has passionately provided comprehensive dental care to multi-generational families of Arizona. In 2024, she transitioned from private practice ownership to devote more time to community empowerment, consulting, maternal health advocacy, and ministry.
Inspired by her personal journey with postpartum psychosis and other perinatal health complications, Dr. JessB is a committed advocate for maternal health. While using her platform to promote discussion and awareness surrounding maternal mental health, behind the scenes Dr. JessB also volunteers countless hours towards advocacy through her involvement with Postpartum Support International, the Arizona Maternal Health Policy Coalition, and the Arizona State Medicaid Advisory Committee. Her latest initiatives, Teeth & Tatas and Brereton Family Doulas exist to empower families, healthcare providers and their communities in Maternal Infant Health equity through accessible health education in nutrition, lactation, oral health, preventive care and wellness. Of all the things she enjoys, Dr. JessB’s favorite pastime is spent in the company of her loving husband, puppy and beautiful children. Together, they adventure in world travels, explore the outdoors and the performing arts.
