PSI Support Coordinators are active volunteers who provide human connection, peer support, Perinatal Mental Health information, reassurance, and resources to those who reach out for help related to mental health in pregnancy and postpartum.
Support Coordinators are encouraged to volunteer at a pace that is healthy and balanced in their own lives. PSI deeply appreciates each of its coordinators, all of their efforts, and their passion to make a difference in the lives of mothers and families worldwide.
Interested in volunteering? We welcome you to fill out this interest form or email Melissa Bentley if you are interested in volunteering. Local Volunteers do not have to reside in their coverage area.
Local Coordinators

- Kansas
- North and South Dakota
- Texas
- West Virginia
- Wyoming
- Central and Northern Canadian Provinces
We welcome volunteers from all over the US and Canada! Please do not hesitate to apply if you are not in one of these areas!
Languages: Mandarin, French, Haitian Creole, Japanese, and more.
Specialized Coordinators
The PSI Support Coordinator Program includes a group of volunteers who have offered to share their lived experience and knowledge related to specific situations, roles or conditions that can exacerbate mental health challenges during pregnancy or postpartum. Examples include: Bed Rest, Dads, LGBTQIA+ Parents, Military, NICU, Pregnancy and Infant Loss, Teen/Young Adult Parents.
Often, those who benefit the most from connecting with our Specialized Coordinators do not know anyone else in their circle of friends or family who has gone through what they are experiencing, and find being able to connect with a person with lived experience to be incredibly validating and reassuring. Specialized Coordinators provide a specific understanding, support, and referrals to resources that are available anywhere, for their area of specialization.
Currently seeking volunteers for these areas of specialization:
- Dads/Father
- Dads/Fathers who have experienced loss
- Neurodivergent Parents
- Parents with ADHD
- Parents with Physical Disabilities
- Maternal Suicide Loss Survivors
- Support for Families after Pregnancy-related Death (for families grieving the loss of a birthing person during pregnancy, birth, or postpartum)
If you have experience or knowledge of another specialized area and would like to offer support, reach out to Melissa Bentley at coordinators@postpartum.net!
