Your social support system is the group of people in your life – from your immediate family, to close friends, to coworkers, and acquaintances – who support you in various ways such as offering advice and information, practical and logistical help, companionship, and emotional support. A strong social support system is vital to maintaining physical and emotional health. Parents growing their families in the current covid era report increased feelings of loneliness and isolation which can negatively affect mood. This exercise helps you identify those in your social support system, the types of support they do and can offer, and any gaps that need to be filled. Finally, though you may be far away and/or isolated from key members of your support system, this exercise will help you identify how they can support you safely.
